Restoration and Reconstruction

The main goal of cultural programs in the sphere of major repair and restoration is the preservation and reconstruction of the city’s historical center and architectural monuments of the nearest suburbs, former tsar’s residences. Priority is given to reconstruction projects included in the jubilee program towards the Tercentenary of the city. The restoration is realized in accordance with the Preservation and Development of Historical Center of Saint Petersburg federal program aimed at preservation, providing utilization, restoration and renewal of historical buildings where cultural institutions are located.
Reconstruction and restoration, major repair, re-design and construction of new buildings for the arts and cultural organizations is carried out in the framework of the city-wide program on the development of material and technical base of Saint Petersburg’s cultural institutions.
